About Pearl Airation

The three primary components of Pearl Airation are the acrylic tank, air pump, and light. The most important component is the tank. Given the large volume of water, the sleek shape and design, and the height of the installation, our primary challenge is ensuring the acrylic will be able to withstand the outward pressure of the water contained within. Our solution is to special order our acrylic material, also known as acrylic cast sheet or panels, manufactured here in Japan, and domestically assemble them one by one using solvent adhesives. Typically, as with most aquariums or water tanks, the panels would be made thick to withstand the pressure. However, given the aesthetic goals of Pearl Airation, we found an alternative solution in reinforcement ribbing. These thin panels are internally installed vertically along the width of the piece and not only provide greater support, but also act as corridors for the rising bubbles. All of the articulations between panels are meticulously examined and detailed to ensure there is no visible remnants of the adhesive. The final piece is always pristine and transparent.

Custom logos, letters and shapes need to be determined prior to construction. They can be changed afterward but will require additional cost and maintenance time. Custom design rental pieces are also available for events and temporary needs.

These additional systems (such as the magnetic lid that controls the ejection of bubbles) have specific lifespans and operating noise levels, making them more suitable for short-term rental use—such as temporary events or exhibitions to highlight products or booths—rather than for long-term use in commercial spaces.

Yes, but very rarely.

We use “airation water” instead of regular tap water. This specialized water is highly resistant to decay and deterioration and therefore requires no replacement or external water supply. Over time, there will be some volume loss due to evaporation. As such, the only maintenance required is a periodic top-up of the Airation water. The power supply is any ordinary wall outlet.

Types of Pearl Airation

Original Type

Air bubbles ascend inside the tank. Express movement in your space with the motion of the bubbles. You can create a dynamic wall of water by installing multiple panel tanks. As a partition or wall, this is the most readily installed type of Pearl Airation, often used in commercial facilities such as offices, hotels, condominiums, hospitals, etc.

Large Bubbles Type

Larger air bubbles are generated, their motion easily noticeable from a further distance. Some bubbles merge and create larger bubbles.
The generation and movement of the large bubbles is subtly audible. These unique sounds impart feelings of healing and serenity in your space - the natural union of sight and sound in water.

Pillar Type

As the name suggests, the acrylic panels are designed in a rounded pillar shape, allowing for full 360 degree viewing. The pillar is particularly suitable for accentuating the centre of your space. One might even place multiple pieces throughout a large space, or group them together.

Hole Type

Sealed holes are cut at intervals throughout the panels, creating solid obstacles around which the bubbles will flow and ascend. The result is a captivating world of dynamic movement and irregular patterns, immersing the viewer in the bubbles’ unpredictability. Some clients use the holes to store and display wine bottles. A very memorable installation, sure to leave a luxurious impression.

Fire Type

Although resembling the Hole-type, the Fire-type instead employs 10mm thick solid pucks of acrylic to create obstacles for the bubbles. This piece is the most delicate, with a tank depth of only 30mm, complimenting the much smaller, fine bubbles. The micro bubbles’ motion resembles that of crackling flames as they dynamically meander around the pucks. The lighting can be customized to fit your preferred atmosphere and effect. The back panel can also be customized with respect to transparency and opacity as you like.

Adjustabubble Type

This version allows you to switch between standard bubbles and high-density bubbles with finer bubble expressions.

Switching from standard to high-density bubbles makes it harder to see through the panel tank, making it useful in various settings where light visual privacy is desired, such as during meetings or discussions.

The gradual transformation of the bubble expressions can leave a special impression on guests who happen to be present.

In addition to meeting rooms and conference rooms, this system can be planned for use in various commercial spaces and VIP rooms of restaurants and other establishments.
